(NaturalNews) A health worker who cared for Ebola "patient zero" Thomas Duncan at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital is now confirmed to have been infected with Ebola.
The worker, whose name has not yet been released, "had been wearing protective gear during treatment of the patient" reports Reuters. [1]
As Natural News has been reporting since day one, CDC protective gear recommendations are wholly inadequate to protect workers from Ebola, a level-4 biohazard virus with no known treatment or cure.
This infection is the second high-profile Ebola transmission among health care workers in first-world hospitals who were wearing CDC-recommended protective gear. The other case involved a nurse in Spain. What these two cases clearly indicate is that the protective gear being worn by these health workers is insufficient to protect them from Ebola. Many infectious disease experts, along with Natural News, have been recommending full face respirators at a minimum, with positive-pressure "space suits" being a better choice.
In the U.S. Army, virologists wear positive pressure "space suits" when interacting with level-4 biohazards such as Ebola and Marburg.

CDC blames the victim

The CDC, which has remained in a state of dangerous denial about Ebola transmission vectors from the very start, is now blaming the health care worker for the infection.
Without even conducting any investigation of the matter, CDC director Tom Frieden leaped to the conclusion that "a breach in protocol resulted in the second Ebola infection in the U.S." according to KPTV. [2]
But the press is also reporting that "she was in full protective gear while caring for Duncan." So instead of admitting that the gear is inadequate for dealing with a level-4 biohazard, the CDC is blaming the victims and implying that they somehow made a mistake.
The CDC remains utterly unable to admit that Ebola requires a level-4 biohazard gear response, which includes full face respirators and positive pressure suits.

Ebola is clearly not "under control"

This outbreak of Ebola in Dallas also demonstrates that far from the claims of the CDC at the White House, the U.S. government does not have the Ebola outbreak "under control."
If it were under control, it wouldn’t be spreading, obviously. CDC director Tom Friedan even admitted more cases may soon be confirmed in Dallas, saying "Unfortunately it is possible in the coming days we will see additional cases of Ebola…" [4]
Some in the media have also claimed that Ebola is "difficult to catch" and no one should be concerned about it. But if it’s difficult to catch, then how did a fully-trained health care worker wearing CDC-recommended protective gear catch it? If it’s difficult to catch, then how did thousands of West Africans catch it accidentally? And why are the number of Ebola infections currently doubling about every 3 – 4 weeks?
What’s clear from this latest news is that Ebola is very easy to catch. And even though the CDC told us that Ebola would never spread in the United States because we have the most advanced hospitals in the world, this outbreak of Ebola just happened under the roof of one of those "advanced" hospitals in Dallas.

Ebola protective gear inadequate? Medical staff in USA and Spain infected while wearing isolation gear

(NaturalNews) Ebola is now spreading in a hospital in Dallas as a health care worker there was confirmed to have contracted Ebola from "patient zero" Thomas Duncan.
The alarming part of this development is that the health worker was wearing CDC-recommended protective gear and was working in precisely the kind of advanced, first-world hospital where we have all been assured Ebola could never spread.
Now, people everywhere are questioning the adequacy of the protective medical gear being worn by health care workers, because clearly that gear is still allowing infections to get through.
Here at Natural News, we’ve been loudly warning the world that the CDC’s unwillingness to tell the truth about indirect Ebola transmission would put people’s lives at risk, and now sadly that day has arrived. What’s clear is that health care workers are not being given adequate safety gear to deal with a level-4 biohazard virus.

Take a look at the gear

Here’s a picture of health care workers in Spain, where a nurse recently contracted Ebola from an infected patient:

From this photo, you can see that this gear is wholly inadequate. These are Tyvek suits with hoods, but there are no goggles or respirators shown in this picture. The female on the left appears to be wearing sunglasses and an N95 mask, neither of which offer the kind of protection demanded during direct contact with an Ebola patient. The man with the Tyvek suit is reaching under his hood, potentially contaminating the inner side of the hood with Ebola on his latex gloves. Perhaps that aren’t yet "geared up" and still plan to put on goggles, but it appears that the man is exiting the hospital, implying he was already in there.
For these suits to be protective at all, they would need to be coupled with full-face respirators, and all contact points where the respirator meets the Tyvek body suit would need to be sealed with tape.
Furthermore, the wrist sleeves of the body suits should also be sealed to the latex gloves with tape. Even then, these are not positive pressure suits, so Ebola could easily penetrate these suits.

Goggles just don’t cut it

The next photo, courtesy of Breitbart News, shows the medical gear being widely used throughout West Africa today:

This is a layered suit with goggles on top. The problem with all these goggles is that they must be vented goggles in order to eliminate fog. Ebola can obviously travel right through the vents via aerosols or airborne droplets of body fluid. (Ebola is extremely infectious to eyeballs.)
The second problem here is that the goggles aren’t really sealed to the suit in any significant way. They simply rest on top of the face mask and head hood, leaving tiny gaps through which aerosolized Ebola can easily travel.
Thirdly, the act of removing all this protective gear can cause a person to be infected. If Ebola is on the gear, then removing the gear can cause a person to transfer that Ebola to their own hands. From there, it can easily end up in their eyes, nose or mouth, where the infection is now established.
This happens because Ebola can be transmitted INDIRECTLY from patients to contaminated surfaces and then to a new victim. This indirect transmission of Ebola is something the CDC continues to ridiculously claim is impossible. For this reason, many health care workers are operating under the false assumption that they cannot acquire Ebola by touching contaminated isolation gear.
And when health care workers do find themselves infected while wearing CDC-approved medical gear, they get blamed by the CDC as if the infection were their own fault.

Here’s what a level-4 biohazard suit really looks like

A level-4 biohazard suit provides complete isolation from the surrounding environment. These are "positive pressure" suits requiring a constant stream of air from an attached air hose. Here’s what they look like:

As you can see from this photo, each of these suits is inflated by an attached air hose. The rushing air is extremely loud to the people inside the suits, making verbal communication very difficult.
When researching Ebola, U.S. Army virologists strip down to be completely nude before donning these suits. Their hands are the most vulnerable points of possible infection, so they layer up with 3 layers of protective gloves.
No scalpels are allowed in level-4 biohazard rooms due to the risk of accidents resulting in cuts. Needles are used sparingly and with extreme caution. One jab with a needle in a level-4 room and you can be fatally infected.
In the U.S. Army, workers wearing these suits are decontaminated upon leaving the lab rooms, and if they are suspected of having lost suit integrity at any time, they are put into the "slammer" — an isolation tank where they have to live for 30 days, completely cut off from the outside world. Scientists who are thrown in the slammer are not even allowed to have scissors to trim facial hair out of fear that they will commit suicide from the insanity of the isolation.

Inadequate gear puts all our lives at risk

As I have repeatedly warned here at Natural News, the CDC’s lies about Ebola spreading only via "direct contact" are a danger to us all. Bad information leads to bad decisions about medical gear, and those bad decisions are now leading directly to more infections.
How many more medical staff in the Dallas hospital will soon be diagnosed with Ebola? Nobody knows, and at the same time nobody believes that wearing "CDC-approved medical gear" is sufficient to halt infections.
If the CDC doesn’t come clean and admit that Ebola can be spread via INDIRECT contact, we will surely see more infections in U.S. hospitals. Keep in mind that barely two weeks ago, we were all assured by the CDC that there would be no Ebola outbreaks in America because we have the best hospitals in the world.
Also, remember that all this has happened from just one Ebola patient. What will happen when ten Ebola patients arrive from Central or South America in the near future? How about a hundred Ebola patients? If the U.S. health care system and government authorities can’t even contain a single Ebola infection, how exactly are they going to contain dozens or hundreds that may arrive in the future?

HHS admits there may already be more cases of Ebola in America

(NaturalNews) After vehemently denying that Ebola would ever come to the U.S., the federal government is now saying that the deadly hemorrhagic disease is here and we all need to get used to it. Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Sylvia Mathews Burwell recently told the corporate media that there are probably more cases of Ebola that we don’t even know about yet, and that the country needs to start preparing now.
In response to accusations that she has basically been kicking back and doing nothing while Ebola continues to spread, Burwell explained that she has been attending daily Ebola meetings for the past several months. She also reiterated the administration’s confidence in the airport screening procedures that already allowed at least one Liberian national, the Dallas Ebola victim, to breach our borders undetected.
"We had one case [of Ebola] and I think there may be other cases, and I think we have to recognize that as a nation," stated Burwell at a recent media breakfast hosted by the journal Health Affairs.
Burwell’s comments come as the Obama regime announces new screening protocols at U.S. airports, the full details of which have yet to be clarified. White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest stated during his daily briefing that five U.S. airports — JFK in New York, Newark in New Jersey, O’Hare in Chicago, Hartsfield-Jackson in Atlanta and Washington Dulles — will begin taking the body temperatures of travelers arriving from West Africa.
These same travelers will also be taken to special screening areas for questioning and other forms of testing, according to NPR.
"We believe these new measures will further protect the health of Americans, understanding that nothing we can do will get us to absolute zero risk until we end the Ebola epidemic in West Africa," added Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) director Tom Frieden in a conjoining statement.

Screening potential Ebola victims after they’ve arrived is useless

In Burwell’s view, the best defense is properly screening West African travelers at their point of departure rather than after they arrive in the U.S. This makes sense, as screening potential Ebola victims after they have already come into contact with other travelers will do nothing to prevent an outbreak.
"The most important place with regard to taking care of screening is actually at the point of departure," explained Burwell. "And that’s been in place for many months and as we know, we have a case. That case sadly is deceased. But for many months, we did not have a case that entered the country."
Well that’s reassuring — we were good for most of the past few months, with the exception of the Dallas Ebola victim, so screening is working, right? Apparently, Burwell is unaware of the roughly 100 other people in the Dallas area who are now being monitored after possibly coming into contact with the Dallas Ebola victim.
Secondary Ebola transmissions, after all, can multiply rather quickly, which already appears to be the case with several Texas police officers and others showing possible disease symptoms, according to reports. Burwell brags about 80 people having been blocked from leaving West Africa, a sign that screening is working. But all it takes is one patient to spark an outbreak.
"Let’s not forget who started this by bringing hot Ebola patients into America and putting them in unsuitable (not level 4) facilities," reminds one Washington Examiner commenter, referring to the Obama regime.
"Then refusing to shut down flights from [West] Africa. Then bumbling the contact-tracing and quarantines. Then LYING about [Ebola’s] transmission and incubation."

Ebola pandemic spreading across Europe is ‘unavoidable,’ WHO warns

(NaturalNews) Most of the attention surrounding Ebola has thus far centered on its spread in West Africa, and now in the U.S. But at least four individuals in Europe, Spain to be specific, are being closely monitored after one of them, a nurse, tested positive for the viral disease.
The 40-year-old healthcare worker is the first, but probably not the last, person in Europe to contract the disease during this current outbreak, reports Boston.com. And the World Health Organization’s (WHO) European director, Zsuzsanna Jakab, says its continued spread across Europe is inevitable.
The woman who contracted the virus, her husband and two others have been admitted to a hospital for monitoring, and others will likely join them in the coming days.
"Such imported cases and similar events as have happened in Spain will happen also in the future, most likely," stated Jakab to Reuters. "It is quite unavoidable… that such incidents will happen in the future because of the extensive travel both from Europe to the affected countries and the other way around."

Europe’s health workers at highest risk of Ebola

In Jakab’s view, health workers in general are most prone to contracting Ebola, as they come into direct contact with individuals from all over the world. The virus has clearly breached the regional borders of West Africa and is now slowly making its way from country to country, and from continent to continent.
"The most important thing in our view is that Europe is still at low risk and that the western part of the European region particularly is the best prepared in the world to respond to viral haemorrhagic fevers including Ebola," she added, as quoted by The Independent.

22 additional people who came into contact with nurse now being monitored

According to reports, the nurse began to develop symptoms not long after treating two Spanish missionaries who had previously been serving in West Africa. About one week before she was officially diagnosed as having Ebola, she reportedly fell ill, the symptoms of which included a low-grade fever.
When the nurse checked herself into a hospital, care workers tested her for Ebola and arrived at a positive diagnosis. At least one other health worker she came into contact with has also reportedly developed Ebola symptoms — diarrhea, but no fever — prompting health officials to include another 22 individuals for monitoring.
"[These 22 individuals] have not been isolated but they are having their temperature taken twice a day to check for signs of infection," explains The Independent.

We don’t know how nurse got infected, say officials

How the nurse actually caught Ebola is still unknown, however. Experts say that infection should not have occurred at all, since the hospital is supposedly equipped with all the proper tools for protection. This particular strain, in other words, must have the ability to transmit in other ways.
"It will be crucial to find out what went wrong in this case so necessary measures can be taken to ensure it doesn’t happen again," stated Jonathan Ball, a professor of molecular virology at the University of Nottingham, noting that containment and control measures should have been an effective safeguard.
Elsewhere in Europe, a Norwegian doctor is now being treated for Ebola after having contracted it while working in Sierra Leone. The man recently arrived in Norway for treatment and is staying in an isolation ward at Oslo University Hospital.

Contrary to popular belief Codex Alimentarius is neither a law nor a policy.  It is in fact a functioning body, a Commission, created by the Food and Agricultural Organization and the World Health Organization under the direction of the United Nations. The confusion in this regard is largely due to statements made by many critics referring to the “implementation” of Codex Alimentarius as if it were legislation waiting to come into effect. A more accurate phrase would be the “implementation of Codex Alimentarius guidelines,” as it would more adequately describe the situation.

Codex is merely another tool in the chest of an elite group of individuals whose goal is to create a one world government in which they wield complete control. Power over the food supply is essential in order to achieve this. As will be discussed later, Codex Alimentarius will be “implemented” whenever guidelines are established and national governments begin to arrange their domestic laws in accordance with the standards set by the organization.

The existence of Codex Alimentarius as a policy-making body has roots going back over a hundred years. The name itself, Codex Alimentarius, is Latin for “food code”[1]  and directly descended from the Codex Alimentarius Austriacus, a set of standards and descriptions of a variety of foods in the Austria-Hungarian Empire between 1897 and 1911.[2] This set of standards was the brainchild of both the food industry and academia and was used by the courts in order to determine food identity in a legal fashion.

Even as far back as 1897, nations were being pushed toward harmonization of national laws into an international set of standards that would reduce the “barriers to trade” created by differences in national laws.[3] As the Codex Alimentarius Austriacus gained steam in its localized area, the idea of having a single set of standards for all of Europe began to pick up steam as well. From 1954-1958, Austria successfully pursued the creation of the Codex Alimentarius Europaeus (the European Codex Alimentarius). Almost immediately the UN directed FAO (Food and Agricultural Organization) sprang into action when the FAO Regional Conference for Europe expressed the desire for a global international set of standards for food. The FAO Regional Conference then sent a proposal up the chain of command to the FAO itself with the suggestion to create a joint FAO/WHO programme dealing with food standards.

The very next year, the Codex Alimentarius Europeaus adopted a resolution that its work on food standards be taken over by the FAO. In 1961, it was decided by the WHO, Codex Alimentarius Europaeus, Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and the FAO Conference to create an international food standards programme known as the Codex Alimentarius.[4]  In 1963, as a result of the resolutions passed by these organizations two years earlier, Codex Alimentarius was officially created.[5]

Although created under the auspices of the FAO and the WHO, there is some controversy regarding individuals who may or may not have participated in the establishment of Codex. Many anti-Codex organizations have asserted that Nazi war criminals, Fritz Ter Meer[6] and Hermann Schmitz[7] in particular, were principal architects of the organization. Because many of these claims are made with only indirect evidence, or no evidence at all, one might be tempted to disregard them at first glance. However, as the allegations gain more and more adherents, Codex has attempted to refute them. In its Frequently Asked Questions section, Codex answers the question, “Is it true that Codex was created by a former war criminal to control the world food supply?”[8]  It then goes on to answer the charges by stating:

No. It is a false claim. You just need to type the words “Codex Alimentarius” in any search engine and you will find lots of these rumors about Codex. Usually the people spreading them will give no proof but will ask you to send donations or to sign petitions against Codex. 

Truthful information about Codex http://www.codexalimentarius.net  is found on the Internet – there is nothing to hide from our side – we are a public institution working in public for the public – we are happy if people want to know more about our work and ask questions. There is an official Codex Contact Point  <http://www.codexalimentarius.net/web/members.jsp> in each member country who will be pleased to answer your questions on Codex.[9]

But, as one can see from the statement above, Codex’s response does very little to answer this question beyond simply disagreeing with it. While it is true that many individuals who make this claim provide little evidence for it, the presentation of the information does not necessarily negate its truthfulness. In fact, Codex offers its own website as a source for accurate information about the organization; yet, beyond the FAQ section, there is nothing to be found that is relevant to the “war criminal” allegations. Furthermore, the codexalimentarius.net  http://www.codexalimentarius.net/web/index_en.jsp website is virtually indecipherable, almost to the point of being completely useless. In the end, this response raises more questions than it answers. This is because Codex, if it wanted, could put these rumors to rest by simply posting a list of the individuals and organizations that funded or played an integral role in its creation. However, it does nothing of the sort. Beyond mentioning the FAO and the WHO, we are completely unaware of who or how many other individuals and organizations participated in the creation of Codex Alimentarius.

The “war criminal” claims center around the chemical conglomerate known as I.G. Farben. I.G. Farben was made up of several German chemical firms including, BASF, Bayer, Hoechst and AGFA,[10] that merged together. It was essentially the manufacturing wing of the Third Reich and was the engine behind the Nazi war machine. The company provided the vast majority of explosives and synthetic gasoline used for the military conquest and murder of millions. It also manufactured the now infamous Zyklon-B gas used in the gas chambers.  Not only that, but it was influential in the conducting of experiments on concentration camp victims. Indeed, camp victims were often purchased outright at the behest of the company for the express purposes of testing by several different branches of the company, particularly Bayer and Hoechst.

Without I.G. Farben, the German wars simply could not have been sustained. During the Nuremberg war trials, the tribunal convicted 24 board members and executives of the company and dissolved it into several different daughter companies. Namely, BASF, Hoechst (later to be known as Aventis), and Bayer. By 1951, virtually all 24 of these executives were released, including Fritz Ter Meer and Hermann Schmitz. Ter Meer had been a member of the I.G. Farben executive committee from 1926-1945 and also a member of the working committee and the technical committee as well as a director of the infamous Section II. He was also the ambassador to Italy given full power by the Reich Minister for armaments and war production and was the industrialist most responsible for Auschwitz. Schmitz was also a member of the I.G. Farben executive committee from 1926-1935, and was chairman of the board and “head of finances” from 1935-1945. He was also head of military economics and a member of the Nazi party. Both men were found guilty by the Nuremberg war tribunal in 1948, yet Schmitz was released in 1950 and Ter Meer in 1952.[11]

After all this, Schmitz was appointed board member of the German bank of Berlin West in 1952 and in 1956, the honorary chairman of the board of Rheinish steel plants. Ter Meer, however, was even more successful. Upon his release, he was appointed board member of Bayer in 1955 and, in 1956 was appointed chairman. In the years following, he would take on many additional roles such as chairman of the board of Theodore Goldschmidt AG, deputy chairman of the board of Commerzbank and Bank-Association AG, as well as a board member of the Waggonfabrik Uerdingen, Duesseldorger Waggonfabrik AG, the bank association of West Germany, and United Industrial Enterprises AG.[12] These are documented connections for both of these men. Indeed, Ter Meer’s’ connections to the pharmaceutical firm Bayer earned him a foundation named in his honor, the Fritz Ter-Meer Foundation.[13] Through all of this however, this writer could not confirm that either Ter Meer or Schmitz had direct connections to the creation of Codex Alimentarius.

However, Codex does nothing to dispel the allegations besides simply disagreeing with them and the connections are not at all implausible. Codex is very secretive about its beginnings, as evidenced on its website where it only states that it was created at the behest of the FAO and the WHO. It is highly unlikely that such an organization would be created without the assistance, input, and even funding of privately owned international corporations. Thanks to both the anti-Codex community and Codex Alimentarius itself, there is no evidence (again at least to this author) that documents which individuals or corporations were involved in its establishment. However, there are other ties that lend more credence to the belief that war criminals played a role in the creation of Codex.

Codex Alimentarius: Population Control Under the Guise of Consumer Protection

(NaturalNews) Codeath (sorry, I meant Codex) Alimentarius, latin for Food Code, is a very misunderstood organization that most people (including nearly all U.S. congressmen) have never heard of, never mind understand the true reality of this extremely powerful trade organization. From the official Codex website (www.codexalimentarius.net) the altruistic purpose of this commission is in "protecting health of the consumers and ensuring fair trade practices in the food trade, and promoting coordination of all food standards work undertaken by international governmental and non-governmental organizations". Codex is a joint venture regulated by the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) and World Health Organization (WHO).
Brief History of Codex
The history of Codex began in 1893 when the Austria-Hungarian empire decided it needed a specific set of guidelines by which the courts could rule on cases dealing with food [1]. This regulatory set of mandates became known as Codex Alimentarius and was effectively implemented until the fall of the empire in 1918. The United Nations (UN) met in 1962 and decided that Codex should be re-implemented worldwide in order to protect health of the consumers. Two-thirds of funding for Codex emanates from the FAO while the other third comes from the WHO.
In 2002, the FAO and WHO had serious concerns about the direction of Codex and hired an external consultant to determine its performance since 1962 and to designate which direction to take the trade organization [2]. The consultant concluded that Codex should be immediately scrapped and eliminated. It was at this time that big industry realized the full monetary potential of this organization and exerted its powerful influence. The updated outcome was a toned down report asking Codex to address 20 various concerns within the organization.
Since 2002, the Codex Alimentarius Commission has covertly surrendered its role as an international public health and consumer protection organization. Under the helm of big industry, the sole surreptitious purpose of the new codex is to increase profits for the global corporate juggernauts while controlling the world through food. The implicit understanding of their philosophy is that if you control food, you control the world.
Codex Now
The most dominant country behind the agenda of Codex is the United States whose sole purpose is to benefit multinational interests like Big Pharma, Big Agribusiness, Big Chema and the like. At the latest meeting in Geneva, the U.S. recently became the chair of Codex which will facilitate an exacerbation of the distortion of health freedom and will continue the promulgation of misinformation and lies about genetically modified organism (GMOs) and nutrients while fulfilling the tacit population control agenda. The reason the U.S. continues to dominate Codex is because other countries falsely believe the U.S. possesses the latest and greatest safety technology when it comes to food and hence, whatever the U.S. asks for, its allies (E.U., Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore) follow suit nearly every time.
Many of the countries who wish to participate and want to voice their opinions are not allowed to attend the Codex meetings as the U.S. denies most visas for these representatives whenever they feel like it. Many of these countries (South Africa, Swaziland, Kenya, Ghana, Egypt, Cameroon, Sudan, Nigeria) realize that Codex has been altered from a benevolent food organization to one that is fraudulent, lethal and illegitimate. The fact that Codex meetings are held all over the world is also no accident and allows the U.S. to maintain its tight grip on the Codex agenda as the less economically viable countries are not able to attend.
The Real Threat
While the esoteric agenda of the media is busy driving fear into the hearts of the world by focusing on terrorism, global warming, salmonella, and food shortages, the real threats are clandestinely becoming a reality. Soon every single thing you put into your mouth (with the exception of pharmaceuticals, of course) will be highly regulated by Codex Alimentarius, including water. The standards of Codex are a complete affront to the freedom of clean and healthy food, yet these regulations have no legal international standing. Why should we be worried? These soon-to-be mandatory standards will apply to every country who are members of the WTO (World Trade Organization). If countries do not follow these standards, then enormous trade sanctions will result. Some Codex standards that will take effect on December 31, 2009 and once initiated are completely irrevocable include [2]:
* All nutrients (vitamins and minerals) are to be considered toxins/poisons and are to be removed from all food because Codex prohibits the use of nutrients to "prevent, treat or cure any condition or disease"
* All food (including organic) is to be irradiated, removing all toxic nutrients from food (unless eaten locally and raw).
* Nutrients allowed will be limited to a Positive List developed by Codex which will include such beneficial nutrients like Fluoride (3.8 mg daily) developed from environmental waste. All other nutrients will be prohibited nationally and internationally to all Codex-compliant countries [2].
* All nutrients (e.g., CoQ10, Vitamins A, B, C, D, Zinc and Magnesium) that have any positive health impact on the body will be deemed illegal under Codex and are to be reduced to amounts negligible to humans’ health [3].
* You will not even be able to obtain these anywhere in the world even with a prescription.
* All advice on nutrition (including written online or journal articles or oral advice to a friend, family member or anyone) will be illegal. This includes naturalnews.com reports on vitamins and minerals and all nutritionist’s consultations.
* All dairy cows are to be treated with Monsanto’s recombinant bovine growth hormone.
* All animals used for food are to be treated with potent antibiotics and exogenous growth hormones.
* The reintroduction of deadly and carcinogenic organic pesticides that in 1991, 176 countries (including the U.S.) have banned worldwide including 7 of the 12 worst at the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pesticides (e.g., Hexachlorobenzene, Toxaphene, and Aldrin) will be allowed back into food at elevated levels [4].
* Dangerous and toxic levels (0.5 ppb) of aflotoxin in milk produced from moldy storage conditions of animal feed will be allowed. Aflotoxin is the second most potent (non-radiation) carcinogenic compound known to man.
* Mandatory use of growth hormones and antibiotics on all food herds, fish and flocks
* Worldwide implementation of unlabeled GMOs into crops, animals, fish and trees.
* Elevated levels of residue from pesticides and insecticides that are toxic to humans and animals.
Some examples of potential permissible safe levels of nutrients under Codex include [2]:
* Niacin – upper limits of 34 mcg daily (effective daily doses include 2000 to 3000 mcgs).
* Vitamin C – upper limits of 65 to 225 mcg daily (effective daily doses include 6000 to 10000 mcgs).
* Vitamin D – upper limits of 5 μg daily (effective daily doses include 6000 to 10000 μg).
* Vitamin E – upper limits of 15 IU of alpha tocopherol only per day, even though alpha tocopherol by itself has been implicated in cell damage and is toxic to the body (effective daily doses of mixed tocopherols include 10000 to 12000 IU).
The Door is Open for Codex
In 1995, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) created an illegal policy stating that international standards (i.e, Codex) would supersede U.S. laws governing all food even if these standards were incomplete [5]. Furthermore, in 2004 the U.S. passed the Central American Free Trade Agreement (illegal under U.S. law, but legal under international law) that requires the U.S. to conform to Codex in December of 2009 [6].
Once these standards are adopted there is no possible way to return to the standards of the old. Once Codex compliance begins in any area, as long as we remain a member of the WTO, it is totally irrevocable. These standards are then unable to be repealed, changed or altered in any way shape or form [1, 2, 7].
Population control for money is the easiest way to describe the new Codex which is run by the U.S. and controlled by Big Pharma and the like to reduce the population to a sustainable 500 million – a reduction of approximately 93 percent. The FAO and WHO have the audacity to estimate that by the introduction of just the vitamin and mineral guideline alone, at a minimum 3 billion deaths (1 billion from starvation and another 2 billion from preventable and degenerative diseases of under nutrition, e.g., cancer, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes) will result.
Degraded, demineralized, pesticide-filled and irradiated foods are the fastest and most efficient way to cause a profitable surge in malnutrition, preventable and degenerative disease which the most appropriate course of action is always pharmaceuticals. Death for profit is the new name of the game. Big Pharma has been waiting for this opportunity for years.
Fighting Back
Dr. Rima Laibow, M.D., who is the medical director for Natural Solutions Foundation, has undertaken legal action against the U.S. government and continues to attend every Codex meeting while fighting for your health freedom. The latest Codex meeting in Geneva heard some dissenting voices that were tired of the U.S. bullying every other country in the world with its population control agenda. Brazil and China have stated that when smaller, underrepresented countries are unable to attend Codex meetings (due to the U.S. not allowing Visas or for lack of monetary means) then every decision made in their absence is invalid. As a result, Codex may soon fall apart under the weight of it own corruption, but pressure needs to be unilaterally applied.
Dr. Rima has also been meeting with delegates from other countries and making them aware of something called Private Standards. Private standards allow countries to draft food standards which are safer and higher than those mandated by Codex. Obviously, this is not a very difficult task and many countries can seemingly circumvent the flawed and irrevocable guidelines Codex is attempting to implement on December 31, 2009 [7].
What Can You Do?
The only way to avoid such cataclysmic events are to fight with the dissemination of knowledge to everyone you know. It does not matter whether they are still asleep or hypnotized by the enslavement of daily life or too busy to pay attention — the time to wake up is now. The U.S. government and the collaborating media have been trying to distract America while all these egregious and mandatory standards are covertly passed. The U.S. Congress believes that for each person who takes the time to write or email them there are another 13,000 others who share similar views but do not take the time to promulgate them. Those living in other countries need to contact their representatives in order to have your voice heard. It is very important that swift and vociferous action be taken now. Times are changing very rapidly and unless we all come together on this issue we may all have to start thinking about growing our own food in the near future to avoid extermination.

CDC faces embarrassment over potential second Ebola case

by Paul Joseph Watson | October 8, 2014One of the Sheriff’s Deputies who was forced to enter the apartment where Ebola victim Thomas Eric Duncan stayed before he was taken to hospital has fallen ill.

A statement issued by the City of Frisco, a suburb of Dallas, suggests that a second potential Ebola victim has been taken to the Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, the same facility where Duncan stayed before his death this morning.

The CDC claims “the patient did not have direct contact with Duncan and he was not one of the 48 people being monitored by federal, state and local health officials.”

However, according to a Dallas Morning News report, the individual was one of the Sheriff’s Deputies who was forced to enter Ebola victim Duncan’s apartment last week. Duncan’s family told the media that they received no advice from the CDC on how to go about cleaning the apartment and it was a number of days before a professional Hazmat team arrived to clean the building.

“A vehicle cordoned off in the CareNow parking lot is registered to a Dallas County sheriff’s deputy who went into Thomas Eric Duncan’s apartment last week, according to a story that appeared on WFAA’s website earlier this week,” states the report, with NBC 5 also confirming that “the person in the ambulance is an employee with the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department.”

Confirmation that the second potential Ebola victim is a Sheriff’s deputy who entered Duncan’s apartment would represent a huge embarrassment for the CDC and Sheriff Lupe Valdez, who gave the order to send the men into the apartment unprotected to enforce a court order.

As we reported last week, Dallas County Sheriff’s Association President Christopher Dyer criticized the decision, suggesting that the Sheriff’s deputies and their families were unhappy at having to potentially expose themselves to the virus.

“They’re very concerned,” Dyer said. ”Their families are concerned. You’ve got to go home and tell your spouse, ‘Hey, I was just inside this house where a guy had Ebola.’”

“My anger is really with the feds,” Dryer added. “Let’s move that family. Let’s move everybody out of that building. I don’t care if it’s overkill. Let’s do overkill. I don’t think sending a few deputies in there is the right course of action.”

Infowars spoke with the CDC last week who said that the apartment in which Ebola victim Duncan stayed should have been cleaned right away.

Images taken from a news chopper also showed unprotected workers cleaning the sidewalk with a pressure washer near Duncan’s apartment where eyewitnesses said he had vomited before entering an ambulance.

This interpretation of the scriptures is not without controversy. Yes, indeed God is more than capable of using and manipulating His creation to “speak” to mankind, but will He use this particular means and timing? Much of the western hemisphere witnessed the eerie sight in the sky yesterday and Nasa has confirmed that a highly unusual ‘Tetrad’ – four successive ‘blood-red’ lunar eclipses each followed by six full moons – has now begun and will end on September 28 2015.

Pastor John Hagee, whose book Four Blood Moons sparked worldwide interest in the phenomenon earlier this year, said it was now too late for mankind to prevent a ‘huge’ event that would change humanity forever.

The alignment has only happened a handful of times in the last two thousand years and Hagee, who leads the popular Cornerstone Church in the United States, said he is now convinced the events of yesterday morning were predicted in ancient scripture. 

Chapter Two of the Book of Joel predicts that the “sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood” before the second coming of Jesus Christ.

And Pastor Hagee said: “God is sending us a signal. Something huge is about to happen. Something is going to change, forever.

“The Biblical basis for this Tetrad is clear.

“It’s not just a single story. It’s in Genesis and repeated in Joel and again in Joshua and again in Luke and then, finally, in Revelation.

“It begins in Genesis 1:14 when the Bible says ‘Let there be light in the heavens and let them be for signals’.

“The word ‘signal’ means that God is sending us a message.

“The Bible provides a very firm basis for this. Right throughout the Holy Book it is made very clear that God does actively control the sun, the moon and the stars in order to speak to us.

“I believe these four blood moons are sending a very clear message to every single person on earth that something is about to happen that will change the course of history. Pastor Hagee said: “This has only happened three times in more than 500 years – in 1492, 1948 and 1967. On each occasion it’s coincided with something very dramatic that’s involved the Jewish people.”

Concerning the new book Cauldron: Supernatural Implications of the Current Middle East, let me say from the outset that it’s been a long time since I felt so strongly that people purchase, read, re-read, study and then share a particular book, and to do so with a sense of urgency. This is because, with recent developments throughout the Middle East and especially those surrounding Israel, I have increasingly felt as a publisher that somebody (with qualifications to do so) needed to put into clear perspective for the rest of us the ramifications of what is currently unfolding in light of Bible prophecy. As I have spoken with the world’s most respected prophecy scholars over the past 12 months, I have learned that, to a person, there is a heightened sense of belief that global events not only seem torn from the pages of apocalyptic literature but truly are those foreseen by Scripture (the signs of the end times) and that they are now coming together with such precision and speed that it has several well-known Christian leaders beside themselves.

“Something is in the wind,” they say, pointing to such developments as the recent call by Jewish leaders (even in the Knesset, the legislative branch of the Israeli government) to build the Third Temple in Jerusalem; a simultaneous effort by the United States to push Israel into a peace agreement this year; political and religious leaders advocating for a single global, financial, and political authority; and even what now appears to be intentional movement by global powers that could initiate the battle of Armageddon. Please understand that within the degrading relationship and saber rattling between the United States, Russia, the European Union, and China exist the very components necessary for the final global conflict, called in Ezekiel 38 “the battle of Gog and Magog.” Ezekiel foresaw this supernatural contest occurring in the latter times after Israel would be “gathered out of many people and nations” and recognized as a nation once again. During that generation in which Israel is so reunified—which was accomplished in 1948—the Battle of Gog and Magog occurs. But if a biblical generation is approximately seventy years (see Psalms 90:10, Daniel 9) and if seven years is also needed for a coming “Peace” plan (called a “covenant” in the book of Daniel) to be enforced upon Israel, counting forward from 1948 seems to indicate these decisive events leading to the Great Tribulation and “battle of Armageddon” have already started their countdown. Ezekiel even tells us who the instigators of the battle will be—Iran (Persia), which becomes the number-one confederate with Russia (Gog) in this invasion of Israel:

And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog [the Russian Federation]…and prophesy against him, And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: And I will…bring thee forth, and all thine army…. Persia [ancient kingdom of Iran], Ethiopia, and Libya with them.” (Ezekiel 38:1–5)

This is but one example of what has prophecy scholars so alert now; that not only some BUT ALL these prophecies that were proclaimed so far in advance appear to be abruptly cascading around the world. Something frightening yet marvelous is unfolding, these experts believe, and yet there is another set of related events even more fascinating to tell you about involving “signs” in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars. This week for a limited time (starting Tuesday, March 11 while they last) we will be giving away FREE the incredible Pikes Peak Live BLOOD MOONS DVD Presentation by Mark Biltz, the original discoverer of the coming tetrads, which are set to begin falling on Jewish feast days next month in unprecedented ways (discussed below). We will also be giving away FREE David Flynn’s incomparable book Temple at the Center of Time specifically because it too foresaw this very moment—the time between 2012-2018—as when the Temple Mount in Israel and the Middle East in general would suddenly come alive with prophetic activity. Why did Flynn believe this and how did he come to conclude the Temple Mount would literally be sitting at “the center of time”?

First, let me discuss the Blood Moons and their potential importance. These “signs” cannot be manufactured by men and were clearly stated as important by the apostles and prophets. For example:

And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity… And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh” (Luke 21:25-28).

Then in the book of Revelation it says:

And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood (Rev. 6:12).

And in Joel we read:

The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come (Joel 2:31).

While many assume when God created the Sun and the Moon that He did so for light, heat, gravity, and other natural mechanisms, when looking at Genesis 1:14, we learn of four other purposes behind why the lights in the heavens were created and placed where they are. The Bible says these are for “signs,” “seasons,” “days,” and “years.”

The Hebrew word for signs in this context is owth, a word meaning a “miraculous sign,” “omen,” or “warning.” It signifies, among other things, that God created the heavenly bodies to communicate important matters at particular times to His covenant people.

The next reason God created the sun and the moon is for “seasons.” Again, in our Western mindset, we figure God is talking about winter, spring, summer, and fall. This is the farthest from the truth. In Hebrew, the word here is mow’ed and is accurately translated as “an appointed time” or “divine appointment” especially related to “sacred seasons” or Feast days. This same Hebrew word is translated into English in Leviticus 23 as “feast” where it talks about the Feasts of the Lord. At first, these two words—appointments and feasts—seem about as far apart as you can get. This is why one needs to keep the Hebrew language in perspective so as not to miss the deeper conveyances of this text. The word mow’ed implies that God has a day timer or calendar on which He keeps predetermined “appointments” with human history and that are connected with His Feasts or Holy Days. For example, in the Book of Revelation it says that the Messiah was slain “from the foundations of the world.” This means God the Father knew the year, the month, the day, and the exact time His Son would die and how this event would be played out in fulfillment of the Levitical feasts of Israel.

 

Finally, God declares that the sun and the moon were created to determine “days and years.” Obviously, this has nothing to do with our modern calendar, which was created by a pagan Roman ruler and is based on the sun. The Muslim calendar is based on the moon. But the biblical calendar—the one that God uses according to Genesis—is based on the sun and the moon. So when the Scripture refers to “days and years” in Genesis 1:14, it is pointing to biblical days and years or “holy days” as well as Shemittah years and Jubilee years (every seventh year the land in Israel was to rest. This is why the Jewish people went into captivity because they did not observe the seventh year. Every fiftieth year was to be a year of Jubilee when captives were set free and received their land back). When this is understood, a whole new discovery is made concerning how God created the sun and the moon and the stars as harbingers or “signal-senders” of His appointed times. This is confirmed throughout the Bible in places like the books of Joel, Isaiah, Revelation, as well as Jesus, Himself, in the Gospels confirming there would be signs in the sun and the moon and the stars that would herald the last days.

While solar and lunar eclipses are common occurrences and for the most part have no great prophetic significance, when they fall on the biblical Feast days, we should pay close attention. In Revelation 6:12, the Bible declares that the sun will become black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon as red as blood. Most scholars believe this important end-times sign is speaking of solar and lunar eclipses. The significance of a total solar eclipse or total lunar eclipse, if it happened on one of God’s Feast days would be a powerful message. Knowing this, be advised there are four total blood moons coming, back to back, right in a row, all falling on Feast days. Equally incredible is how within the very same timeframe, two solar eclipses are scheduled to arrive. Read that again and let the significance of these comments sink in. Prophetically speaking, we are talking about the equivalent of six grand-slam homeruns in a row—a mathematical improbability that stands out against the randomness of natural cycles and strongly suggests a miraculous sign or “omen” of intelligent design is coming. Of significance to the new book Cauldron and the free DVD and book by Mark Biltz and David Flynn we are giving away starting this week (while supplies last) is how these “grand slam” blood moon tetrads are set to unfold between the years 2012–2016, specifically 2014 and 2015.

When examining NASA’s website, we find these specific types or strings of total eclipses are called a “tetrad” and are very rare. According to their own calculations, a similar string of four total lunar eclipses did not happen at all in the 1800s, 1700s, or even the 1600s. Amazingly, in the 1500s it happened around seven times but not once did all four eclipses fall on the Jewish Feast days. When was the last time four blood moons not only occurred back to back but fell on the Feasts? The shocking dates were 1967 and 1968 when Israel recaptured Jerusalem! What about the time before that? Right on the heels of Israel becoming a nation in May of 1948. The following two years in 1949 and 1950 again saw four blood moons on Passover and the Feast of Tabernacles and then again on Passover and the Feast of Tabernacles! In other words, not only were there four blood moons in a row, but all four of them fell on the Feast days that were accompanied by historically prophetic implications of divine proportions.

What does all this have to do with the future and the timespan 2012–2018? From the Books of Revelation and Joel (2:31), we understand that the sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the Lord. In Exodus (chapter 12), God told Moses that Passover (roughly March-April in the Gregorian calendar—the very time frame I am writing this letter) would be the point at which the religious year would begin. It just so happens that after the two blood moons on Passover and Tabernacles in 2014, this Jewish New Year in 2015 will be met with a total solar eclipse. Two weeks later on Passover we have the next total lunar eclipse. Then on the Feast of Trumpets, also known as Rosh HaShana, there is a partial solar eclipse followed two weeks later by the next total lunar eclipse on the Feast of Tabernacles. There will not be another such tetrad of four blood moons landing on biblical holidays this century. Keep your eyes on global events as these blood moons may well mark God’s prophetic calendar with apocalyptic scenarios falling like dominoes across the world scene in anticipation of the second coming of Jesus Christ.

What you’re seeing here is the initial global footprint of the Ebola virus. It is most likely that each one of the above countries has more than one case; and, they are struggling to maintain the public’s confidence. We should see a second global wave of Ebola cases following a brief incubation period. The secondary global outbreak will be under-reported, as well. Around the end of October/beginning of November, during the tertiary wave, it will become apparent this is a global pandemic that has spiraled completely out of control.
At this point, economies will start to falter, airline travel will decline rapidly, and governments around the world will blame each other for lack of truthfulness.
One may appropriately expect the spread of Ebola through the international community to look like the spread of Enterovirus-68 in the United States:
1. Initial outbreaks played down and under-reported.
2. Initial reporting suggests the government and health agencies are responding appropriately.
3. Spread has reached several states.
4. Number infected suggests it is completely out of control.
5. Confirmation that it is completely out of control.
6. Increase in morbidity and mortality.
7. Public panic ensues.
It is possible the spread of Ebola will burn through the population like the flu-both have similar infection mechanisms and life expectancies in the external environment. Let’s pray this assessment is completely wrong!

The perils of resisting the police state grow more costly with each passing day, especially if you hope to escape with your life and property intact. The thing you must remember is that we’ve entered an age of militarized police in which we’re no longer viewed as civilians but as enemy combatants.

Take, for example, Mary Elizabeth VandenBerg who was charged with disturbing the peace, a crime punishable by up to 93 days in jail and a $500 fine, for daring to vocalize her frustrations over a traffic ticket by reading a prepared statement to the court clerk and paying her $145 traffic ticket with 145 one-dollar bills. VandenBerg was also handcuffed, tasered and pepper sprayed for “passively” resisting police by repeatedly stopping and talking to them and stiffening her arms. The incident, filmed by VandenBerg’s brother, is now the subject of a lawsuit.

Zachary Noel was tasered by police and charged with resisting arrest after he questioned why he was being ordered out of his truck during a traffic stop. “Because I’m telling you to,” the officer replied before repeating his order for Noel to get out of the vehicle and then, without warning, shooting him with a taser through the open window. The encounter, recorded with a cell phone by Noel’s friend in the passenger seat, offers a particularly chilling affirmation of how little recourse Americans really have when it comes to obeying an order from a government official or police officer, even if it’s just to ask a question or assert one’s rights.

Eighteen-year-old Keivon Young was shot seven times by police from behind while urinating outdoors. Young was just zipping up his pants when he heard a commotion behind him and then found himself struck by a hail of bullets from two undercover cops. Despite the fact that the officers mistook Young—5’4,” 135 lbs., and guilty of nothing more than taking a leak outdoors—for a 6’ tall, 200 lb. murder suspect whom they later apprehended, the young man was charged with felony resisting arrest and two counts of assaulting a peace officer.

What these incidents make clear is that anything short of compliance will now get you charged with any of the growing number of contempt charges (ranging from resisting arrest and interference to disorderly conduct, obstruction, and failure to obey a police order) that get trotted out anytime a citizen voices discontent with the government or challenges or even questions the authority of the powers that be—and that’s the best case scenario. The worst case scenario involves getting probed, poked, pinched, tasered, tackled, searched, seized, stripped, manhandled, arrested, shot, or killed.

So what can you really do when you find yourself at the mercy of law enforcement officers who have almost absolute discretion to decide who is a threat, what constitutes resistance, and how harshly they can deal with the citizens they were appointed to “serve and protect”? In other words, what are the rules of engagement when it comes to interacting with the police?

If you want to play it safe, comply and do whatever a police officer tells you to do. Don’t talk back. Don’t threaten. And don’t walk away. In other words, don’t do anything that even hints at resistance.

Keep in mind, however, that this is not a fail-safe plan, especially not in an age where police officers tend to shoot first and ask questions later, oftentimes based only on their highly subjective “feeling” of being threatened, and are reprimanded with little more than a slap on the wrist. Indeed, the news is riddled with reports of individuals who didn’t resist when confronted by police and still got tasered, tackled or shot simply because they looked at police in a threatening manner or moved in a way that made an officer fear for his safety.

For example, Levar Edward Jones was shot by a South Carolina police officer during a routine traffic stop over a seatbelt violation as he was in the process of reaching for his license and registration. The trooper justified his shooting of the unarmed man by insisting that Jones reached for his license “aggressively.”

If compliance isn’t quite your cup of tea—and we’d be far better off as a nation if we were far less compliant—then you’ve got a few more options ranging from legal-but-sure-to-annoy-an-officer to legal-but-it-could-get-you-arrested to legal-but-it-could-get-you-shot.

If this is war—and a good case could be made for the fact that the government is indeed waging a war on the American citizenry—then the tactics I’m about to outline could be considered nonviolent guerilla warfare, using whatever strategic, legal, creative and nonviolent means are available in order to outmaneuver an opponent—in our case, the American police force—whose language is the language of force.

To begin with, and most importantly, Americans need to know their rights when it comes to interactions with the police, bearing in mind that many law enforcement officials are largely ignorant of the law themselves. In a nutshell, here are your basic rights when it comes to interactions with the police as outlined in the first ten amendments to the U.S. Constitution:

You have the right under the First Amendment to ask questions and express yourself. You have the right under the Fourth Amendment to not have your person or your property searched by police or any government agent unless they have a search warrant authorizing them to do so.  You have the right under the Fifth Amendment to remain silent and not incriminate yourself.

You have the right under the Sixth Amendment to request an attorney. Depending on which state you live in and whether your encounter with police is consensual as opposed to your being temporarily detained or arrested, you may have the right to refuse to identify yourself. Presently, 26 states do not require citizens to show their ID to an officer (drivers in all states must do so, however).

Knowing your rights is only part of the battle, unfortunately. The hard part comes in when you have to exercise those rights in order to hold government officials accountable to respecting those rights  As a rule of thumb, you should always be sure to clarify in any police encounter whether or not you are being detained, i.e., whether you have the right to walk away.

That holds true whether it’s a casual “show your ID” request on a boardwalk, a stop-and-frisk search on a city street, or a traffic stop for speeding or just to check your insurance. As I point out in my book A Government of Wolves: The Emerging American Police State, if you feel like you can’t walk away from a police encounter of your own volition—and more often than not you can’t, especially when you’re being confronted by someone armed to the hilt with all manner of militarized weaponry and gear—then for all intents and purposes, you’re essentially under arrest from the moment a cop stops you.

Still, it doesn’t hurt to clarify that distinction, as Kahler Nygard learned. Nygard was threatened with arrest for failing to comply with an order by TSA agents to undergo additional screening after flying with no incident from Minneapolis to his final destination in Denver. It turns out that Nygard, at one time a vocal critic of the government, had been placed on a special list requiring him to undergo extra airport screening. When airport officials realized that they had failed to carry out the additional screening prior to Nygard’s departure, they attempted to cover their mistake by screening him once he landed. To the annoyance of the government agent, Nygard—who filmed the entire encounter—repeatedly asked the agent whether he was being detained or not. Once he deduced that the TSA had no legal rationale for detaining him, Nygard walked away without incident. The encounter might have ended far differently had a police officer been standing nearby, however.

Another important takeaway from Nygard’s experience is to record your encounter with police. While technology is always going to be a double-edged sword, with the gadgets that are the most useful to us in our daily lives—GPS devices, cell phones, the internet—being the very tools used by the government to track us, monitor our activities, and generally spy on us, cell phones are particularly useful for recording encounters with the police and have proven to be increasingly powerful reminders to police that they are not all powerful.

No matter what individual police officers might say to the contrary, members of the public have a First Amendment right to record police interactions, as the Justice Department recognized in a 2012 memorandum acknowledging that “recording governmental officers engaged in public duties is a form of speech through which private individuals may gather and disseminate information of public concern, including the conduct of law enforcement officers.”

That said, there may still be consequences for filming the police, as Fred Marlow learned the hard way. Marlow was charged with interfering and resisting arrest, and fined $5,000 for daring to film a SWAT team raid that took place across the street from his apartment. Marlow was asleep when he heard what sounded like “multiple bombs blasting and glass breaking.” Rushing outside to investigate, Marlow filmed police officers dressed in army green camouflage standing beside an armored vehicle, in the process of carrying out a SWAT team raid to serve a search warrant (more than 80,000 such raids take place every year in the U.S. for such routine police procedures as serving search warrants). Ordered to return inside or face arrest for interference, Marlow explained that he was on his own property and could be outside. He was subsequently arrested.

One popular alternative to citizens filming police encounters is having the police wear body cameras, which have been proven to decrease the number of use-of-force incidents and citizen complaints when used properly. Unfortunately, given that they can be turned off as easily as they are turned on, these devices are also ripe for abuse, not to mention the fact that they are privacy-threatening, roving extensions of the surveillance state whose cameras are conveniently pointed at us, not them.

Clearly, the language of freedom is no longer the common tongue spoken by the citizenry and their government. With the government having shifted into a language of force, “we the people” have been reduced to suspects in a surveillance state, criminals in a police state, and enemy combatants in a military empire

In such an environment, as every resistor from Martin Luther King Jr. and on down the line has learned, there is always a price to be paid for challenging the status quo. Then again, the price for not challenging the status quo is even worse: outright tyranny, the loss of our freedoms, and a totalitarian regime the likes of which the world has never seen before.

A K9 officer with the Montville Police Department died late last month after being left in a police cruiser for several hours.

The K9, known as Beny, suffered a fatal heat stroke after Sgt. Bret Harrison left the officer in a backseat kennel for more than four hours without air conditioning or water.

Reports indicate that Harrison parked his vehicle outside the police department at 10:54 a.m. on Sept. 28 before finding Beny motionless at 3:13 p.m.

Montville Police Chief Terry Grice issued a short press release regarding the incident shortly after.

“This is a loss that words cannot describe, and it is very difficult for everyone involved. There is no doubt that this loss will have a lasting impact on Sgt. Harrison and our entire department. Sgt. Harrison cared deeply about Beny. He worked with him 40+ hours a week and Beny lived with Sgt. Harrison and his family when the two were off duty. Sgt. Harrison is overwhelmed with grief, and is taking this loss very hard.”

According to Montville police, Harrison has received a two-week unpaid suspension as well as the loss of a week’s vacation time for the death of Beny.

While the incident has undoubtedly affected the department in a negative way, local residents feel the case represents a clear double standard.

“‘He received a two-week unpaid suspension and a loss of 40 hours of vacation,’” Montville resident Billy Setter stated on social media. “What happens if anybody else kills a K9 ‘officer?’”

“Right Billy Setter, if I shoot a police dog, I would be charged with murder of a police officer, because the dog is considered part of the police force,” one man replied. “Cops though are held to a different standard and think they are above the law.”

Just last month, a K9 officer in North Carolina died after being left inside a hot police cruiser also, resulting in a minor suspension for the offending officer.

Similarly, residents immediately noted a double standard in the situation as well.
“I just think it’s crazy, because they get on everyone else for leaving their animals in the car and dying, and they want to throw them in jail, but they can’t do nothing about their own officer that kills one of their K9s,” local resident Michael Foss stated.

In a separate incident, an officer caught abusing a K9 on camera last May only received a suspension despite glaring proof that he acted maliciously towards his partner.

On the other side of the spectrum, a South Carolina man received a 35-year prison sentence last January for killing a K9 officer during a 2011 altercation with police.

(NaturalNews) We are currently in the midst of the sixth mass extinction event in the history of life on Earth, warns an international research team in a new scientific research review published in the journal Science.
The study was conducted by researchers from Stanford University, the University of California-Santa Barbara, Sao Paulo State University in Brazil, the National Autonomous University of Mexico, the Natural Environment Research Council Centre for Ecology and Hydrology in England and University College London.
Throughout the 3.5-billion-year history of life, our planet has gone through several mass extinction events, characterized by dramatic drops in species diversity. Unlike prior mass extinctions, which were caused by factors such as natural climate change or asteroid collisions, the
current mass extinction is caused exclusively by the activity of a single species: human beings.
In the new paper, the researchers refer focus on the severe drop in animal diversity that has occurred as a part of the mass extinction. They have dubbed this dramatic loss of animal life the
"anthropocene defaunation" — that is, the destruction of animal life associated with the era of human domination of the planet.

Cascade of effects

In reviewing the research, the study authors found that more than 320 species of terrestrial vertebrates have gone extinct since the year 1500, and the remaining species have had their populations decline by an average of 25 percent. Among vertebrates as a whole, 16 to 33 percent of all species are considered either threatened or endangered. The rates of decline are highest among larger animals (megafauna), which tend to grow and reproduce more slowly than smaller animals, and need larger areas of habitat to sustain them.
The loss of large vertebrates may have a cascade of ecological effects, the researchers warned. For example, studies found that areas of Kenya where large animals such as zebras, giraffes and elephants have been extirpated quickly became overgrown and experienced a boom in the population of rodents. This led directly to an increase in the rate of certain human diseases.
"Where human density is high, you get high rates of defaunation, high incidence of rodents, and thus high levels of pathogens, which increases the risks of disease transmission," lead author Rodolfo Dirzo said. "Who would have thought that just defaunation would have all these dramatic consequences? But it can be a vicious circle."

"Obvious consequences"

The mass extinction is not limited to vertebrates. The researchers found that, over the past 35 years (during which the human population doubled), populations of most invertebrate species decreased by 45 percent.
Invertebrates are animals without backbones, a vast category that includes everything from insects to spiders and from worms to a wide variety of ocean life.
As with the loss of megafauna, the loss of invertebrates can severely disrupt an ecosystem and thereby have serious effects on human health. For example, 75 percent of the world’s food crops are pollinated by insects. Invertebrates also provide key ecosystem functions such as decomposition and nutrient cycling.
"We tend to think about extinction as loss of a species from the face of Earth, and that’s very important, but there’s a loss of critical ecosystem functioning in which animals play a central role that we need to pay attention to as well," Dirzo said. "Ironically, we have long considered that defaunation is a cryptic phenomenon, but I think we will end up with a situation that is non-cryptic because of the increasingly obvious consequences to the planet and to human wellbeing."
The extinctions of both vertebrates and invertebrates are primarily caused by habitat destruction and climate disruption, the researchers found.
