THE DAYS OF NOAH

What was it really like before the flood? Through countless theories, wild speculation and bizarre ideas, there is much more to the story of Noah than what most people may realize.
By Samuel C. Baxter – On February 28, 2014
“Once upon a time there was a long time …” Unless you’re in elementary school, spent the first line is usually a signal to change the channel. A story for a child must generally follow. Tale likely include heroes and villains eaters biscuits, a damsel in distress and perhaps a giant or two. This is usually a very improbable myth, a legend or a parable.
This is how most people see the idea of a flood that would have covered the entire Earth.’s Story has captured the imagination of almost all cultures for millennia. Tradition in Sumerian, printed on tablets Wedge Ziusudra boarded a huge ship. Former Babylonian tale has Utnapishtim in the lead role, with his wife and animals on the boat. In both cases, the main characters become immortal after the flood.
Aztec culture has a version of 52 years with one man and one woman, Nene and Tata, surviving by hiding in a huge cypress. Thereafter, the god Tezcatlipoca into the dog for disobeying orders.
Over the years, the story of the Flood was transformed several times with almost all cultures preserve a history of water covering the whole earth, usually to destroy a wicked humanity. There is also the Greek myth of Deucalion and legend Indian Manu.
There are not really two identical versions.
However, for those who believe in the validity of the Bible, only one report is correct: The Story of Noah’s Ark family. at least two members of each species (Genesis 6: boat in a giant He then rained for 40 days and 40 nights, and a flood covered the Earth Ultimately, the ark s’ aground on the crest of a mountain and God said He would never flood the world. He used a rainbow sky to symbolize his promise.
It seems that if any story deserves to start with “Once upon a time there was a long time”, it is this one.
But there is a problem. If something happened there a long time, how do we know exactly what happened? Can not ask the eyewitnesses and no videos this time on the internet. This means that even those who believe in the account of the Bible can wander about what really happened, especially with regard to the conditions before the flood.
A bone of contention is found in Genesis 6: 4: “There were giants in the earth in those days, after the son of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them: This are those heroes who were famous in antiquity. “
Verse 2 says that the son of God took the daughters of men as women.
These verses have fascinated Bible readers for centuries: Who were these “giants in the earth” and “son of God” men”? More importantly, what did they have then to do with God’s decision to destroy mankind by a worldwide flood?
One of the favorite responses is that fallen angels (son of God) have procreated with human females to create a super race of malevolent demons. So God was forced to destroy humanity.
This idea seems more true when we read the book of Job. In chapter 1, verse 6, the angels are called the “son of God.”
James Moffatt supports this idea in his translation of the Bible, “Angels”, he did not even call the “son of God”, “saw the daughters of men were beautiful, and they took them wives of all which they chose. “(Genesis 6: 2)
Other sources add to this theory, as the Book of Enoch, a controversial paper written in the year 300 BC. Well, a Hollywood blockbuster about Noé describes these angelic beings like giant 11-foot high with six arms.
Yet, Jesus Christ reveals an obvious flaw in the idea of angel / human offspring: “For in the resurrection they shall take no women, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in the sky. “(Matthew 10:30 p.m.)
Although the context of the quotation is a future resurrection, it clearly indicates that angels do not marry. They are spiritual beings without sex and it is impossible for them to procreate. If they could, the company would be full of these examples, but there are none! Therefore, the son of God who took wives of the daughters of men can not be angels. Bible tells us that there were giants before and Over the centuries after the flood, but they were human beings in the flesh 4).
Yet this is just one of many misconceptions about the minutes before the flood. To understand how it was in the days preceding the flood, you dig into the text of the Bible. This creates a vivid picture of the days of Noah and their crucial role in the modern world.
A picture of this period began to emerge still playing in Genesis 6: 5: “And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and all the thoughts of his heart was only towards the daily evil. “
Every imagination of the thoughts of the heart of man was evil continually. How had it come to be so bad?
Before the flood, people lived for centuries., The first man Adam lived for 930 years, which was a decade or two longer than the average life of the time.
Try wrapping your mind around living for almost a millennium. Imagine if someone had 900 years to learn something like playing the violin., And could eventually reach and even exceed what is considered the level of virtuoso today.
While everyone was polishing new skills, it was not done in a 6:.. 1: “When men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them … “
The original Hebrew word translated as “multiply” means “increase” and “multiplied by myriads,” according to Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible.
In other words, the Earth has experienced tremendous population explosion. Due to their extended life, how many people would have increased between 5 and 17 billion people in the days of Noah.
Knowledge and technologies have also increased rapidly during the 1656 years from Creation to the Flood. Mankind has built cities (4:17) had cattle ranches (4:20), composed and played music (4:21), and discovered metallurgy, including how to make alloys such as brass.
Although each man had 900 years to perfect various trades, he also had the same amount of time to develop bad attitudes and bad habits.
Anyone thinks and does becomes a part of his character. Just as a person might have become very skilled at metallurgy during this time, she could also have perfected the art of lying, cheating and stealing. Even after only a few hundred years, man would become incredibly nasty. And, again, there must be billions of people like that!
Those who lived at that time knew how to work the metal, for both good and bad happened.. ” The earth also was corrupt before God, the earth was filled with violence. “(Genesis 6:11)
This is the world that the Creator looked and said, “I will destroy the face of the earth man whom I have created, from man to animals to creeping things and birds of the air: for I am sorry that I have made them. “(Genesis 6: 7)
Yet there was one person who stood out: “But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. “(Genesis 6: 8)
Noah had lived in a completely different way from those who lived around him, who had been known from the days of the creation of Adam and Eve.
In the garden of Eden, the first man and the first woman received a choice between two very different life paths 7-9.: “The Lord God formed man of the dust of the earth, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living being. And the Lord God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there he put the man he had formed. L LORD God made to grow out of the ground every tree pleasant to the sight and good for food, and the tree of life in the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. “
God then gave Adam and Eve simple instructions: “You may freely eat of every tree of the garden; But you must not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you shall die. “(Genesis 2: 16-17)
Eat the fruit of the tree of life symbolized the choice to follow God’s will, and allowed him to determine how man should live. Eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil represented to choose make decisions based on proper understanding of man.
Genesis3:.. 1-8 shows which way Adam and Eve chose They rejected the Creator as their supreme teacher and ruler Instead, they listened to the serpent and ate the wrong tree humans. decided for themselves what was “good” and what was “evil.” They continued to choose between good and evil by their own failed physical reasoning rather than listening to what God says .
By not eating from the tree of life, the man cut his access to divine knowledge, which included understanding the incredible goal of God for him.
The two trees in the garden also symbolize two lifestyles: Supply versus receive.
The way the gift can be defined as infinite love, care and concern for others that are equal to or greater than the love of ourselves. This provides for cooperation, service and sharing. Moreover The way to receive is to the domestic concern yourself follows. “I want to be it,.. rather than to produce it myself. “It is materialistic, greedy and selfish. Cà is to get at the expense of others, often at the expense of their suffering.
At the time of Noah, the vast majority of Earth lived in the way of receiving.
The way of Cain
Genesis 4 shows that the first dam and Eve, Cain and Abel children illustrate these two lifestyles. Jewish historian of the first century, Josephus had access to ancient historical documents that no longer exist TODAY . ‘hui The Antiquities of the Jews support the biblical narrative: “Now the brothers were satisfied with their different way of living; Because Abel, the younger, was a lover of justice and believed that God was present in all his actions; He excelled in virtue; And his job was that of a shepherd. But Cain was not only very bad in other respects, but he was quite determined to get everything … “
Strong’s Concordance shows that the Hebrew meaning of the name Cain is “all receive.”
Cain finally manages to kill Abel out of jealousy and is expelled from the presence of his family as punishment earth. I shall be hidden from thy face I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond … “(Genesis 4:14)
Cain clearly has not been removed from the earth, but was driven from the place where Adam, Eve and their children lived says. “And Cain went out from the presence of LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, east of Eden. “
Josephus says that Cain refused to learn from his punishment and, instead, was determined “to increase his wickedness; For it was only to get everything for his own bodily pleasure, though here obliged to insult his neighbors violence.; He excited his knowledge to obtain pleasure and to strip them of theft, and he became a great leader in all wickedness. He also introduced a change in that way of simplicity wherein men lived before ; And he is the author of measures and weights. And while they lived innocently and generously while they knew nothing of such arts, he changed the world with the art of deception. He of First set any limits on land: He built a city and a fortified with walls, and he compelled his family to live there … “
Instead of always giving generously, Cain apparently introduced weights and measures in business relationships. He almost certainly started to deceive others using this system to get more for himself. It has negatively influenced others to live selfishly.
Josephus demonstrates the incredible effect that Cain had on others, “While Adam was still alive, it came to pass that the posterity of Cain became exceedingly wicked, each becoming worse than the previous excellent. in flights … yet was he bold in his profligate behavior, in acting unjustly, and inflicting injuries to gain? ‘.
The Antiquities of the Jews have one of the descendants of Cain, “But Tubal, [the Bible calls Tubal-Cain] one of his children … exceeded all men in strength, and was very expert and famous in martial performances [he was a warrior elite] method.; And he first invented the art of brass. “
These are just a few descriptions of the descendants of Cain. Other children of Adam lived separately in a form entirely different direction.
Preachers of righteousness
Recall that Abel was “a lover of justice”, meaning that he lived in the way of God 119. 172 defines justice: “My tongue shall speak of thy word: righteous. “
This means that Abel obeyed God’s commandments.
The way the gift is not dead when Cain killed his brother.
Back to Genesis 4:25: “And Adam knew his wife again; She bore a son, and called his name Seth, for, she said, God gave me another son in place of Abel, whom Cain slew. “
Genesis 4:26 says: “Seth also had a son, and he called his name Enos: Lord.. “
The phrase “call upon the name of the Lord” could also be translated as “men began to preach and to publish the name of the Lord.”
Those in the line of Seth almost certainly invented written language. Josephus says they have founded the study of astronomy and wrote their findings on stone and brick pillars to preserve knowledge.
A passage in the New Testament highlights the role that Seth and Enosh had the world before the flood: “If he does not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah the eighth, it preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly. “(II Peter 2: 5)
Noah was the eighth of what is called “preachers of righteousness.” Abel was the first. Remaining seven were Seth, Enos, Cainan, Mahalaleel, Jared, Enoch and Noah. They probably taught their families live according to the commandments of God.
Note that the lives of many of these preachers rode for several hundred years. At one point, six of these men lived together. That would undoubtedly have increased their positive effect.
Again, the report provided by Josephus adds, “So this Seth, when he was raised and happened in those years in which he could discern what was good, became a virtuous man; And he himself had an excellent character, so he left behind children who imitated his virtues. All this turned out to be a good mood. They also inhabited the same country without dissensions, and in good conditions, without misfortunes that fell upon them, until they die. “
A land of peace and happiness. How different civilization during the reign of Cain!
However, the sphere of influence of the line of Seth did not stop with the immediate family. Antiquities of the Jews shows that each patriarch was in charge of the government, which means they apply God’s laws as civil laws . Josephus says that the children of Seth “continued to recognize God as the Lord of the Universe” for seven generations, but over time, they are perverted and abandoned the practices of their ancestors.
What was the cause of the loss of influence of the preachers of righteousness in the society?
John Gill’s Exposition of the Old and New Testaments speculates that during the time of a man named Jared (who was the great-grandfather of Noah), apostasy began to settle eliminate the ways of God, which took place when the children of Cain began to mix with those of Seth.
The Bible clearly states that the son of Jared, Enoch “walked with God”. (Genesis 5:22) With Enoch, we can understand that these eight men just preached God. Whether Jesus Christ with his saints one day would establish a super government on Earth!
Jude 1: 14-15, in the New Testament says: “It’s Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, to exercise a judgment against all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all acts which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches have spoken against him ungodly sinners. “
Everything indicates that the son of Enoch, Methuselah, and his grandson, son, Lamech, did not continue in the teachings of preachers of righteousness. Instead, the line jumped two generations to Noah. Almost certainly, Methuselah and Lamech maliciously caused apostasy against God’s ways and used their influence as heads of government to influence others to their thoughts.
And, as has been the case throughout the millennia, Methuselah and Lamech probably slowly introduced false beliefs to those in their charge. They probably taught counterfeit ideas that might seem of God, but which probably originated the spirit of Satan, that II Corinthians 4: 4 called the “god of this world.”
While weddings continued between the children of Seth and those of Cain, the process of receiving has gripped the entire Earth.
Because Noah was righteous, the Creator warned of the coming flood: “And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; For they have filled the earth with violence; Behold, I will destroy them with the earth wood.; Rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without. “(Genesis 6: 13-14)
The Flood did not start immediately 3)., During which Noah, a preacher of righteousness, warned of impending catastrophe for the majority this period.
Josephus adds to the story: “But Noah was very uneasy at what they did; And being dissatisfied with their conduct, it should convince them to change their dispositions and actions for the better: but seeing they did not obey him, but they were slaves to their evil pleasures, he was afraid they killed him, with his wife and children, and those they had married; After that, he left the country. “
A loving God has made sure that all humanity knows the punishment to come and offered to all who would change their way of life a place in the ark. Moreover, Noah also certainly preached the gospel of kingdom throughout the world as his grandfather Enoch had.
To refine this warning, God may have increased natural disasters at the time.
While most of the details of the Babylonian story of the flood is not reliable, the increase in natural disasters has a high value because it follows a common biblical model. Few details gleaned from the Babylonian myth include a slight increase in famines and epidemics in the years before the flood. It also mentioned that the attacks of lions and wolves were common.
Such events would attract the attention of the man and show him that he lived in the wrong way!
Despite the warnings of Noah for decades, everyone ignored the patriarch rescued. “… When God’s patience was prolonged in the days of Noah, during the building of the ark, in which a small number of people, that is to say, eight souls were saved by water. “(I Peter 3:20)
“The days of Noah”
The world before the flood is not only interesting from the point of view of biblical history. Jesus himself has given utmost importance to the understanding of this important report, “It was in the days of Noah, so shall also the coming of the Son of man. For in the days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah entered the ark; And they are suspected nothing until the flood came and took them all away So will be the coming of the Son of man. “(Matthew 24: 37-39)
Before the flood, the overwhelming majority has ignored verbal warning Noah and warning signs around them about what was going to happen.
Luke 17: 26-27 contains a parallel narrative. “It was in the days of Noah, so also in the days of the Son of man were eating, drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah entered the ark; The flood came and destroyed them all. “
In other words, the conditions of the world before Christ’s return will reflect “the days of Noah.”
In Matthew 24: 3, while talking with Jesus, some of his followers were asking questions on the same subject asked. “Tell us, when shall these things will happen, and what will be the sign of thy coming, and the end of the world? “The word” world “in this verse is better translated as” age. “
Try to imagine global trends before the Flood: A population explosion, violence and widespread wars, the incredible technological advancement, the proliferation of knowledge, false religions, animal attacks, disease and famine.
Now look at Christ’s statement about what will happen in the last days as part of what is called the Prophecy on the Mount of Olives, “For many shall come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ . ‘and will deceive many people wars… Keep you be not troubled: for all this must happen, but this is not yet the end Nation will rise against a nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be in divers places, and famines and earthquakes. “(Matthew 24: 5-7)
All these trends have existed throughout history. Jesus just meant they worsen significantly before the end of the ages.
Daniel 12: 4 adds to the image stating “seal the book until the time of the increase.. “
Also, Apocalypse 6 contains a parallel with Prophecy on the Mount of Olives and mentions four symbolic riders who ride horses that are white (with a connotation false Christianity), red (war), black (famine) and pale ( the disease). These are the conditions that will increase in the last days.
Apocalypse 8 summarizes the four horsemen receive all the powers on earth “to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.”
Be honest with yourself. Consider the daily news. All these trends exist today and are becoming more common every day.
The “days of Noah” the End Times are upon us now! And, just as before the Flood, a loving God warns the nations of the Earth while announcing the good news of the coming of the great government Christ soon.
It was another trend that Jesus said in Matthew 24:14: “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and come.. “
As was the case before the flood, God provides a way of escape for those who repent and change their ways of living.
Do not be lulled into thinking that everything continues as was always the case. Leave worsening adverse events in the world you wake up and turn to God and His way of giving. Learn from the examples of those who have ignored fervent warnings of Noah.
Read Luke 17: 26-27, again: “It was in the days of Noah, so also in the days of the Son of man day. Noah entered the ark; The flood came and destroyed them all. “
A deluge of prophetic events will be unleashed on an unsuspecting humanity. You do not have to be caught off guard. Studying literature and videos mentioned in this article, and evidence of their validity in the pages of your Bible, you can know what’s coming.
